Why I built Arin Hoops Lab
I founded Arin Hoops Lab from my own journey learning basketball in Hong Kong. I fell in love with the game early on, but access to structured, consistent coaching was limited. Most of my progress came from hours of training alone, repeating drills, watching videos, and trying to piece together a system for improvement without really knowing if I was doing things the right way.
When COVID 19 hit and gyms shut down, everything became even harder. Practices were canceled, courts were locked, and the structure I relied on disappeared overnight. I remember feeling stuck, wanting to improve but not knowing how to train with purpose on my own. Motivation was difficult to maintain without games or teammates, and progress felt uncertain without guidance. That period forced me to figure out how to stay disciplined, focused, and creative with my training.
Arin Hoops Lab began as a personal solution to that struggle. I started organizing my workouts into clear progressions, building levels, and tracking small improvements so I could see growth even when I was training alone. Over time, that system grew into something bigger than just my own routine.
Today, Arin Hoops Lab provides a step by step training pathway designed to help athletes develop independently. Drills are structured into progressive levels so players can train with purpose, measure their growth, and build real confidence through consistency.
This is more than a platform to me. It is a passion project built from my own challenges. As a student athlete, I am still refining both my game and this system. My goal is to help young players in Hong Kong take ownership of their development, stay motivated through setbacks, and continue growing even when no one else is in the gym with them.
